Blimey.
Poor Cliff. I almost feel sorry for the man that he was ever signed by Paul Fairclough. From day one, it was clear he was not good enough to play football in League Two. After a surprising run of form towards the end of the 2007/08 season, it looked as though maybe, just maybe, he might be up to it, as he got more games under his belt.
Wrong.
The 2008/09 season was simply painful to watch Cliff Akurang play in. It was painful enough to watch Barnet in, but some of the performances from this man defied belief. Rotherham away came Cliffs finest hour, with two fine goals in an amazing 4-3 win, very surreal. Other than that, he provided some light relief, but largely frustration, before being shipped out on loan to Weymouth. Hes now spending this season, the final year of his Barnet contract, on loan at Rushden & Diamonds where bizarrely hes scoring a few goals. Not the football league, though, is it? Thankfully Ian Hendons clearly seen what most of the fans did straight away. No talent!
