WILSON, Paul Born On 26/09/1964  England Player Quite simply, a Barnet legend, Wilse was a fixture in the Barnet side throughout the 1990s. A tough tackling central midfielder, Paul played in almost every position during his twelve years at the club, other than in goal. He was rewarded for all his fine service with a testimonial game at home to West Ham United in October 1999. Then West Ham boss Harry Redknapp sent a full strength Hammers side to Underhill, including the likes of Paolo Di Canio. The first half was the 1999/00 Barnet side and the second was members of the 1990/91 Conference winning team. West Ham won 8-1, not that it really mattered. He first joined Barnet in 1988 and went on to make over 400 first team appearances for the club, you dont get too many players like him these days. He left Barnet on a free transfer early in the 2000/01 season after finding himself on the fringes of the first team, joining Boston United in the Conference. Not long after his retirement at the York Street club, however, he was back at Underhill, this time as first team coach. First under John Still and then for a time with Paul Shreeves and Martin Allen, before leaving when the club stated they could not afford him as part of Martin Allens staff for the 2003/04 season.
