HENDON,

Born In Ilford On

Player
Now club manager, but he has a fine history as a Barnet player already.
Ians first spell with Barnet was a loan one from Sheffield Wednesday during the 2002/03 season, for a month in the winter. At the end of that season, when Wednesday let him go, he had the choice of Conference Barnet or Division Two Peterborough United. Thankfully, he chose the former.
Martin Allen made Ian his captain for the 2003/04 season and it was a role he was to hold onto for a number of seasons. His finest moment, lifting the Conference trophy in 2005, although there were many fine individual moments, especially from the penalty spot.
The 2007/08 saw Hendon appointed as Faircloughs player-assistant manager. He was used fleetingly in the first team, making his final appearance as a late sub in the defeat at Shrewsbury Town in November 2007.
When Fairclough left the club in December 2008, Hendon was put in caretaker charge and did enough to earn himself the job on a full time basis, being handed a two year deal towards the end of last season. Lets hope Ian can write himself a fine managerial history at Barnet, to compliment his playing one.
