PERSON STATS

  CAREW, Ashley
Born In London (England) On 17/12/1985  Barbados
Player

Not one of Paul Faircloughs best signings, Ashley joined Barnet from the footballing wilderness in the summer of 2007.

He was with Gillingham as a youngster, but had been released and ended up playing for Beckenham Town, when he got a trial with Barnet. In his first season with Barnet, he was played on the right wing and was frankly, useless. He didnt really do anything all season. At the start of 2008/09, Fairclough announced hed be trying Carew in a new role at right back. He had a superb first game there on the opening day of the season...to follow it with a ran of woeful ones. Finally he lost his place in the side and became very much a bit part player.

Ashley made his final Barnet appearance in Faircloughs last game in charge, away to Bournemouth in December 2008. Shortly after he was loaned to Eastleigh and then subsequently released before the seasons end. He initially joined Eastleigh on non-contract terms, before signing for Bromley at the start of 2009/10.
