PERSON STATS

  BASHAM, Mike
Born In Barking On 27/09/1973  England
Joined On 01/08/1997 Player Left: 15/03/2001

Basham was with Barnet from 1997 until 2001, but failed to ever truly establish himself as a first team player, especially in the latter stages of his team at the club, where he was pre-dominantly on the subs bench or in the reserves.

A fairly solid centre back, Mike signed for Barnet after spells at Peterborough and Swansea, having begun his career at West Ham as a youngster.

Post-Barnet and the teams relegation to the Conference, he was one of many departures, being offered another crack at the football league with York City. After a season and a half in and out of there first team, he joined non-league Chelmsford City on loan before making the move permanent in 2003.

He played out the final years of his career back in his native Essex, with Chelmsford and Thurrock, before retiring in 2005.
