Here we are with the first of our guides to the basement of the Football League,
ingeniously titled Basement Guide. As you may have come to expect from this
site, you won't find much transfer speculation or ins and outs or anything
remotely useful. Moreso, you will find a brief history, a summisation of what we
expect from them and where to get a good drink, amongst other things. These are
all based around our opinions as Barnet supporters.
So this is our sixth year back in the Football League. At the end of May, the
time of writing this, I don't hold out much hope for our progress. We haven't
confirmed a managerial appointment yet so this may well change in the coming
weeks but the way we ended last season does not inspire me with any hope. One
thing that does appear clear though is that there will be a large upheaval in
playing staff with the new manager. Players have already left the club with only
a handful announced as being retained. So who knows as the weeks progress how
optimistic we may become. I think we all know that the blind optimism will be
firmly back in place by 2:55pm on the first day of the season.
This will hopefully keep the website ticking along nicely over the summer. With
the slight distraction of the WORLD BLOODY CUP having the potential to knock us
firmly off track, I'm sure you'll forgive a few delays to our witty, incisive
prose.
